The Beach Villas are dotted on the island’s coral sand fringe. Private space extends onto the beach and out to the lagoon

Duplexes comprise two interconnecting villas, and are perfect for families and larger parties. Each unit has its own courtyard area and gateway for added privacy.

The largest villas available at the resort are the Grand Beach Villas. With two bedrooms, two , large bathrooms, Jacuzzi bath, a living room, kitchenette, dining table, veranda and a wide, beachfront, the suites offer a cosy “home-away-from-home”, especially for long-staying guests.

Out on the water, set along mighty sun-bleached wooden pontoons connected to a gangway, from the centre of the island, are 18 Water Villas. With private sundecks and staircases that, lead down into the water, each Water Villa offers guests direct access to the lagoon.

The larger Grand Water Villas feature a bedroom, living room and a spacious sundeck with, private Jacuzzi overlooking the lagoon and reef.

Dining

Food for romance, for relaxation, for the sheer pleasure of company. On the porch of a villa, on a secluded beach, around the pool, on the seashore. At Kanuhura exists cuisines of unimaginable variety – and all the fruits of the Indian Ocean.

The finest ingredients are imported from all over the world, whilst fresh fish and seafood come directly from the clear waters of Lhaviyani Atoll. The resort has sourced an interesting selection of international wines to complement the delectable cuisine prepared by internationally-trained chefs.

Olive Tree serves a la carte dishes from throughout the Mediterranean and features an open pizza oven. Specialties are fresh pastas, salads and a mouth-watering selection of freshly caught grilled seafood and steaks. ‘Cuisines of the sun’ inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean are offered for lunch. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant itself, or take a poolside table for a romantic candlelit dinner as a glowing sunset fades into a million twinkling stars.

Candlelit romance on the shores of the Indian Ocean sets the tone for Veli Cafe, with its white-linen covered tables and chairs set amidst the luxurious shade of frangipani trees on the beachside wooden terrace. An extensive choice of carefully selected wines make the perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood from the Maldivian atolls, fused with spices, pickles and sauces to form a delectable Thai cuisine.

The resort’s pool bar is located next to Reethi Restaurant and offers tropical cocktails, frozen smoothies, fresh fruit juices, a comprehensive choice of different waters and a selection of cigars. It is the perfect place for light lunches, afternoon tea and sundowners. During the evenings, it is a vibrant champagne cocktail venue.

Across a 300 metre shallow lagoon channel, just a five-minute boatride from One&Only Kanuhura, is the resort’s neighbouring uninhabited islet of Jehunuhura. A pristine powder-fine sand beach and a small manicured ‘jungle’ interior give a true Robinson Crusoe feel to this little piece of paradise. Six individual cabanas offer guests a relaxing retreat from the heat of the afternoon sun. In the evening, the island becomes a haven for private parties or romantic hideaways for two.

Long a favourite destination for generations of travellers seeking the ultimate escape, Kanuhura’s relaxed and welcoming ambience allows for moments of spontaneous fun and adventure.

Land Sport
An oasis of invigorating adventure, the resort offers myriad opportunities for active enrichment every day including two floodlit tennis courts and an air-conditioned squash court. In the comfortable game room, guests can also enjoy darts, table football, table tennis and billiards, or just relax with a cosy read in the library.
The renowned Peter Burwash International Tennis Academy challenges players with professional coaching offered on two floodlit synthetic grass courts atop a sand surface. Individual and group instruction, following the Peter Burwash method, is available for a fee. Coaches are also available as playing partners, and are happy to arrange social play.

Water Sport
Within the protected reefs surrounding the island, the waters of the Indian Ocean become a playground of incredible fun for water sports enthusiasts. The resort lagoon and unexploited surrounding waters of Lhaviyani Atoll provide endless opportunities for marine exploration from scuba diving excursions and PADI certification courses to guided snorkelling trips. Water-sports enthusiasts can enjoy a wide range of activities including windsurfing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, catamaran sailing, speed boating, fishing, canoeing, pedalo boating, banana boat and tube rides, and exploring the ocean with underwater scooters.

Spa/Fitness
The spa is a place rich in peace and pleasure. A place of vibrant colour – a verdant island fringed by coral-white sand, and wrapped in the dramatic blues of sea and sky. So time stands still, allowing for perfect moments of personal discovery and rejuvenation. The spa has its own lavish pavilion, complete with a health and beauty centre with separate amenities for ladies and gentlemen. For total beauty treatment, the Beauty Salon offers hair care, manicure, pedicure and personalised make-up and styling. Aerobics, yoga, meditation and workouts at the Gymnasium are also part of the spa's daily attractions.
